Every item is custom made, one at a time in my home workshop. My process involves much handwork using chisels, saws, and hand planes. All joinery is carefully fit by hand.
Ordering Process
Email me at Frank@franksworkbench.net with your request, we will discuss the project, design, finishes, etc. A deposit payment is due prior to beginning production.
Payment
A 25% deposit is due prior to starting production (50% for custom orders) with the balance due on delivery.
I accept cash or check only.
Shipping / Delivery / Pick-up
I deliver within 75 miles of Van Alstyne, Texas at no additional charge
I do not ship, but you are welcome to arrange your own transportation.
Lead Times
When you email me your order request we will discuss expected lead time, which can vary depending on a variety of factors. Expect a standard time of 8-12 weeks.
Construction Methods
I use solid premium hardwoods for the entire piece. This means that as "signs of life" such as the inevitable dents, dings, and scratches happen over the years, it will add character (think a well-loved antique) rather than looking like the items is ruined or damaged. With all solid wood that means there will be no veneers separating at corners or topcoats chipping off allowing an off-colored plywood to rear its ugly head!
Pieces are generally not able to be disassembled. While table tops can be removed, most other components are constructed with interlocking joinery that is intended to last for many decades under normal use. This is a deviation from commercially available furniture that is designed to be able to be flat packed and shipped across the country and world, then assembled with bolts.
Cancellations / Returns
Cancellations prior to starting production will have refund of the deposit less a $50 cancellation fee. After production has begun, the deposit will not be refunded.
Items returned in like new condition will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. Custom work is not eligible for refund.
